Yup, those metrics and stats can be quite a distraction on any platform, so it's definitely good to be aware and careful, and not let it have an effect on one's value as a creator or human. I mean it seems obvious when I say it like that...

Hey Libby! I’m so pleased to have just found your account. For the first time in my life (I’m 40 yo!) I’m allowing myself to dream of becoming an illustrator and author of children’s books. I’m starting out with no formal qualifications or background in the arts….but this post of yours has inspired me no end. I’ve been journalling and keeping a sketchbook (a vital mental health practice too) for sometime, I’m just not so good at the sharing part, mainly because my health is up and down a lot…I digress, it’s wonderful to find someone documenting this, from scratch and even without knowing you, I’m really proud of all those achievements you’ve listed! Well done!! 👏🏼

I also feel you on the up and down health side and it can be difficult. It sounds like you’re taking great steps by journaling and sketching. Thank you so much for your kind words. Huge congratulations 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I love your jigsaw - 29 January is apparently National Puzzle Day (American) but you could pinch it with that offering. I perhaps ought to start/finish a review of my year; I don't know that I could put together such a cohesive list of achievements. I know I work at a snail's pace compared to others so it always looks less but I ought to at least give myself a pat on the back.
